Out Professionals is the leading nonprofit networking organization for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning) professionals in the USA. Our organization and events are open to both established and aspiring professionals as well as supportive community allies.
Founded in 1983 as a New York-based grassroots networking organization, Out Professionals began expanding nationally in 2019 with the addition of a new chapter in Los Angeles. Growth of city chapters was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but is resuming when and where it is safe to congregate again.
Our goal is to create a growing network of city chapters that host events that benefit LGBTQ professionals while providing a virtual community to benefit those who live in less populated areas.

We focus on creating in-person networking events with the support of virtual and online networking opportunities that help create the connections and build the professional relationships that advance careers and improve professionals’ lives.

Educational Foundation
Nonprofit for Career-Advancing Education
Over time, Out Professionals’ mission broadened to increasingly include career-building and life-enhancing educational programming including seminars, webinars, and industry panels. With the arrival of COVID-19 and lockdown, we expanded our educational programming while pivoting to virtual educational serving a larger geographical audience.
To reflect and help fund our growing focus on education, we created the nonprofit the Out Professionals Educational Foundation in August, 2021.
The goal of the foundation is to further expand and develop career-centered, in-person and virtual educational programming.
Mission Statement:
Providing Career-Building Education and Opportunities
The Foundation will support Out Professionals in providing educational information to Out Professionals' members and the public at large on subjects useful to the membership and beneficial to the community. Our programming features career-advancing and life-enhancing webinars, in-person seminars, and industry panels.
The Foundation plans to develop a free mentoring program where experienced professionals can share their knowledge and expertise with junior professionals and those just entering the workforce.
The Foundation will support Out Professionals by funding or directly supporting or conducting these educational and charitable activities in the future to the extent it is able to do so.
