Community Engagement Partner: Casa De Luz

Casa de Luz will be our featured nonprofit in January but we hope you'll consider a donation for the holidays!

Casa de Luz is a collective house open to LBGTQ+ refugees who left their home country in search of a better life. Casa de Luz raises money so they can offer a safe haven for people who lived in fear of persecution because of their sexual orientation or gender identification.

Trans, lesbian, gay & bisexual people are fleeing from all over the world to escape "epidemic levels of violence" and threats by criminal gangs and security forces. Over 2,900 were killed in the past 5 years just in Central America.

These are the most vulnerable refugees entering the US. Please consider donating to support their efforts.

Parking Advisory

Street Metered Parking is available; pay attention to posted rates and times.
Access Hillcrest reserves the Hillcrest DMV for FREE public parking from 6:30 pm – 3:00 am most nights. Visit the lot during free parking hours and claim one of the 153 available spots at Cleveland and Normal Street.
