MEET FILMMAKER JOE FOX AND NBC'S BARBARA RAAB AT A SPECIAL SCREENING OF 'QUESTION ONE,' ON MAINE'S FIGHT FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY.

On Wednesday, October 24, Out Professionals invites you to a special 7 p.m. Chelsea screening of 'Question One: The Battle for Same-Sex Marriage in America.' This special OP screening is followed by a conversation between Barbara Raab, senior news writer at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and Joe Fox, the film's co-creator, who served as director/writer/producer.

In 'Question One,' Fox and co-creator James Nubile chronicle the fierce and emotional battle that took place in Maine between that state's granting same-sex couples the right to marry, and the referendum that reversed that decision just seven months later.

The filmmakers shadow the campaign's foot soldiers in "war room" style and document the controversial leading role of California-based campaign consultants Frank Schubert and Jeff Flint, whose Proposition 8 claim that "same-sex marriage would be taught in public schools," successful in California, was reused in Maine.

Watch the trailer here.

An earlier documentary by Fox and Nubile, 'Passing Poston,' about a Japanese internment camp during WWII, aired nationally on PBS and screened in theaters nationwide to critical acclaim. The award-winning veteran journalists are partners in Fly on The Wall Productions.

Joe Fox has an impressive background in print journalism. 'Voices of Peace,' his four-part series for USA Today on the peace process in Northern Ireland, Israel and South Africa, was chosen as that paper's submission for the Pulitzer Prize.

Barbara Raab is senior news writer at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and an adjunct broadcast professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She has freelanced across all platforms, including SiriusXM OutQ News, where she is currently national legal correspondent.
