On Friday evening, September 28, Out Professionals invites you to network amid the riches of Chelsea's Rubin Museum of Art, free! The Rubin's K2 Lounge welcomes OP Members and friends with two-for-one drinks from 6 to 7 p.m. and remains open to tempt you until 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, ascend the museum's dramatic spiral staircase and stroll its surrounding balconies between visits to art-filled galleries.
Take note of "Candid: The Lens and Life of Homai Vyarawalla," work by the revered Indian photojournalist who died in January at 98. She recorded the visits to India of world leaders and dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth, Jacqueline Kennedy, Ho Chi Minh and Zhou Enlai. After that, sample "Approaching Abstraction," a show of extraordinary paintings and experimental films that forms part of the colorful series "Modernist Art from India."
Or visit "Gateway to Himalayan Art" to pick up your free Looking Guide, a key to important figures and symbols throughout the museum. And savor "Masterworks: Jewels of the Collection," highlighting the Rubin's most notable recent acquisitions, all of them rarely or never before exhibited.
