On Tuesday evening, August 28, Out Professionals benefits from a private screening of "Keep the Lights On," a ground-breaking film directed by Ira Sachs ("Married Life," "The Delta" and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning "Forty Shades of Blue") and written by Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias. Greek cinematographer Thimios Bakatakis captures New York's bars, restaurants, streets and nightspots with a painterly eye.

"Keep the Lights On" examines a volatile 10-year relationship between a Danish filmmaker (Thure Lindhardt in a fearless performance) and an initially closeted literary lawyer (Zachary Booth in a breakthrough role).
As the two men work to build a home and life together, each continues to battle his own compulsions and addictions. (It is no secret that Booth's character is based on Sachs' former partner, Bill Clegg, a literary agent who chronicled his drug odyssey in the memoir "Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man.") "Keep the Lights On" has been described as a film about sex, friendship, intimacy and most of all, love.
