
OP.LYNX, The Women's Network of Out Professionals,
is a community-building endeavor. OP.LYNX is a reflection of interests
expressed to us by the lesbian business community in the NYC-Metro
area. We foster professional growth for individuals by 'lynking' them
with other like-minded business professionals and groups at informative
and inspiring panel discussions, networking mixers and special events.

To the OP.LYNX community:
OP.LYNX is seeking women of diverse
professional, ethnic
and cultural backgrounds living or working in or near NYC to join us.
Our goal is to build an active and dedicated core committee that truly
represents the melting pot of New York City and to provide dynamic and
enriching programming, networking and resource-sharing opportunities to
our community. We are depending on your early participation to
make this happen.
Responsibilities:
Ability to attend a substantial number of OP events, which include general membership events (average 2 events a month).
Ability to network, foster introductions among event attendees, and to
talk about the benefits of becoming a member, as well as contributing
to the creative process of producing interesting and engaging events.
Ability to attend and contribute to committee meetings (average 1 - 2 times a month).
Some of the specific skills we are looking to fulfill include: Event
planning & production; Community-building among other non-profits,
corporations & business owners; Sponsorship; Public relations and
marketing; Event photography; Advertising/graphic design, etc.
Requirements for Participation:
A short cover letter stating why you would be a good candidate, along with your bio/resume.
A photograph to identify you.
Process:
Submission deadline is February 11th, 2010. Please send all materials to aliyahallim@gmail.com
Enthusiasm and passion in candidates will be highly considered, together with cultural diversity.
15 Candidates will be invited to meet the Board Committee of OP.LYNX on Thursday, February 18th at 6pm in New York City.
6 - 8 chosen women will then be invited to join us in a formal meeting.
After 6 months of participation, these individuals will have had the
opportunity to show their commitment, and they will be formerly
announced to our membership. A formal portrait will be needed for
inclusion on our website.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very
important that you are comfortable with this level of visibility when
you consider applying to be a OP.LYNX Committee Member.
