Terms of Agreement

By submitting or renewing an application for Out Professionals membership, members agree to the following terms:

  1. No information in the Printed Membership Directory or the Online Membership Directory may be used to add to mailing or email lists, nor is it to be used or sold for any commercial purpose. Member information was collected and is authorized only for use by members of Out Professionals to make individual networking connections or to send small (fewer than 50 recipients), targeted postal mailings or targeted emailings about the members' own businesses. Targeted mailings should clearly identify the specific reason a recipient was targeted.

  2. Information intended or appropriate for distribution to more than 50 members should be submitted to OP for distribution in NEWS & OFFERS emails (Guidelines for these announcements posted under NEWS & OFFERS tab). Improper use of member information may result in termination of membership or other penalties. PLEASE NOTE: Directories include marker names, so OP will be aware when directory information is used improperly.

  3. If you use OP directory information to network for jobs or to distribute targeted information about your own business -- whether by mail, phone, or e-mail -- discretion should be paramount. Out Professionals has been built on a foundation of trust and goodwill. At the same time, it may be assumed that members are willing to extend networking courtesies to each other on a professional basis, and you are encouraged to do so when the opportunity arises.

  4. Apart from providing current members with access to the online version of our Membership Directory (use of which is governed by 1, 2 and 3 above), Out Professionals never makes your personal information available to anyone for any purpose. Nor do we ever share (even with members) our mailing or email lists, whether of members, non-members or any combination thereof.

  5. Your personal data is safeguarded. Our electronic database information is double-password protected. Old paper records of membership forms containing personal data and credit card information are shredded.

  6. By submitting a photo, logo or other graphic (hereafter "graphic") to Out Professionals for reproduction in print and/or on the internet, members assert that: A) The member possesses ownership of the graphic and/or legal authority to grant usage rights for the graphic to Out Professionals, B) The member grants Out Professionals unlimited, world-wide, non-exclusive reproduction rights for submitted graphic, C) The member accepts sole responsibility for submission of any copyrighted graphic and releases Out Professionals from any and all claims or liability which may result from publishing submitted graphics.

  7. The presence of an individual's likeness or name in this or any other communication of Out Professionals may not be taken as an indication of sexual orientation. In accordance with New York City law, Out Professionals does not discriminate, and participation is open to all.

  8. Out Professionals reserves the right to edit or amend these terms at any time without notice.
