NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn in conversation with OP Member Andrew Kirtzman of WCBS-TV.
Now, in an intimate evening with Out Professionals, Speaker Quinn will talk with WCBS-TV political reporter Andrew Kirtzman about her ascent to the top of New York City politics at one of the most thrilling and challenging times in Gotham's history.
Even if you set aside the fact that Christine Quinn is the first woman, openly lesbian, and Irish Speaker of the New York City Council, her personal and political accomplishments are remarkable.
Don't miss this chance to get the inside scoop on what really goes on inside our City Council's chambers -- and what it means for gay and lesbian New Yorkers.
Tickets for this very special event are available exclusively to Out Professionals members, who may register one non-member guest.
Speaker Quinn has been rated one of the fifty most powerful women in New York City by the New York Post, and one of the most influential New Yorkers by New York Magazine. She served as a delegate to the 2000 Democratic National Convention and was appointed to the 2004 Convention's Platform Committee. She and her partner, Kim Catullo, live in Chelsea with their dogs Andy and Sadie.
Moderator Andrew Kirtzman joined CBS 2 as political reporter in November 2002. Kirtzman joined the station from New York 1, the city's 24-hour news channel. He had served first as a political reporter and then as anchor of the nightly political show "Inside City Hall." A widely published journalist, he is author of Rudy Giuliani: Emperor of The City (Harper Paperbacks).
Tickets: $5 Members, $10 Guests. You must RSVP since we expect to be at capacity.
Location: LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th St.
EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED! No more RSVP's can be accepted after November 3rd.
