Out Professionals Logo Designer: Steve Rank
"In developing concepts for the new OP logo, I took several
factors into consideration including: 1) longevity -- will the
logo/identity be relevant for several years? 2) extendability -- will
the mark accommodate OP services and chapter names? 3) voice -- does it
convey professionalism and lend itself to different applications?
This new logo for Out Professionals
captures the dynamic personality of the Nation's Leading Gay and
Lesbian Networking Organization. Several of the letter forms break
through their conventional structure and extend beyond the others to
suggest initiatives the organization supports in its efforts to reach
and connect to the gay and lesbian community. Out Professional's
guiding principles are reflected in the dynamic, contrasting colors and
are punctuated by a period at the end of the logo.
Steven Rank, a practicing designer for over 17 years, is the
creative director and owner of SARANKCO: The Design Office of Steven
Rank. Over the years, Steven has worked at large branding firms as well
