SEASONAL SPECIALTIES FROM A SEASONED STORYTELLER/CHEF

OUT PROFESSIONALS PRESENTS FARM-TO-TABLE ADVOCATE JONATHAN BARDZIK — CHEF, STORYTELLER, PUBLISHED AUTHOR.

“Everybody eats,” points out farm-to-table advocate Jonathan Bardzik. This helps explain why his cooking demonstrations, teaching dinners, team-building events and conference presentations are a hit with diverse audiences across the country. On September 27, Jonathan prepares farm-fresh dishes for his Out Professionals audience, offering tasting samples and providing recipe cards.

Since 2011, when the Washington-based Bardzik turned a passion for seasonal cooking into his profession, he has headlined a video series and more than 250 live events, developed 700 recipes and published three cookbooks — the brand-new “Fresh and Magical Vinaigrettes” and an earlier pair, “Seasons to Taste” and “Simple Summer.”

On September 27, discover why his cooking demonstrations continue to delight audiences at mid-Atlantic farm markets. With storytelling and humor, Jonathan demonstrates the ease of creating dishes quick enough for a midweek meal and special enough for your next dinner party.

Jonathan Bardzik draws inspiration from the seasonal, local ingredients he grew up with and finds today at Washington’s historic Eastern Market. He exploits garden-fresh flavors, creating farm-fresh meals for friends and family, and helping others find joy in their own kitchens.

On Saturday, October 14, you are invited to join Members and friends of Out Professionals … OP.LYNX, our dynamic women’s network… and some of our newest, up-and-coming young professionals for “Greenwich Village Macabre,” the walking tour and mixer.

blue-more-ticket-button-215w

Death lies in plain view — if you know where in the Village to look, and what to look for.

  • The 19th century Jewish graveyard

  • The murdered architect
  • The haunting artist
  • America’s most famous missing person
  • Edgar Allan Poe’s home, and his inspiration for “The Raven”
  • The day the music died

Afterwards we adjourn to Julius,’ a favorite hangout of writers Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote. One of Manhattan’s oldest bars, this was the site of the 1966 Sip-In, at which activists challenged the New York State Liquor Authority’s regulation prohibiting bars and restaurants from serving homosexuals.

Out Professionals’ private Walking Tour/Mixer Series is designed for us — and you — by Joyce Gold History Tours of New York. Joyce teaches Manhattan history at New York University and the New School.

TAKING CONTROL OF DECISIONS THAT SHAPE YOUR FAMILY’S LIFE

OUT PROFESSIONALS INVITES YOU TO LEARN TODAY’S BEST PRACTICES IN FINANCIAL, ESTATE, AND TAX PLANNING FOR THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY.

Join Out Professionals on Wednesday, October 25, for a dynamic and empowering panel discussion to learn how financial, estate and tax planning professionals collaborate to help you and your LGBTQ family take control of truly important aspects of your lives.

blue-more-ticket-button-215w

Examine the stages of LGBTQ family development: Marriage and cohabitation agreements; adoption and alternative reproduction agreements; how to protect your estate through wills, trusts, healthcare proxies; and what happens if you get divorced.

Explore important tax considerations revolving around life events: LGBTQ family development — marriage, having children, buying a house, investing, and career changes.

Develop an understanding of the importance of long-term investing: discuss impactful and socially responsible investing; what you should expect from your financial advisor in 2017; and the process of comprehensive wealth management.

Alexander Fruchtman, upper left, joined his family’s practice, the Fruchtman Group at Morgan Stanley, in 2013 to address the financial needs of the next generation for new and existing clients, their families and their businesses as well as the underserved LGBTQ community. Alex assists with all facets of holistic wealth management in a strategic advisory role for matters including IRA rollovers; life insurance and long-term care; and lending, retirement and college planning. He serves as Chair of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce’s LGBT Committee as well as a committee member of the LGBTQ alumni association of his alma mater, George Washington University.

Samantha Harris, upper right, is a CPA, a co-owner/partner of Cavalier Enterprise LLC, a family-owned tax accounting firm that provides tax preparation and bookkeeping services for individuals, corporations, and small businesses, with a focus on service and knowledge of the tax industry. Samantha has her MBA in accounting, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA).

Andy Izenson, Esq., lower left, is attorney-mediator with the boutique LGBTQ family law and mediation firm, Diana Adams Law & Mediation, PLLC, working primarily with and advocating for LGBTQ, polyamorous, and non-traditional families. Andy is a popular speaker on current LGBTQ issues, including same-gender marriage and transgender issues; the Supreme Court and the fate of LGBTQ Americans; cultural competency and sensitivity for attorneys and other professionals serving transgender and gender non-conforming clients; and opportunities for corporate leadership with LGBTQ employees. The National LGBT Bar Association named Andy one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 – Class of 2017.

James White, Moderator, lower right, joined OppenheimerFunds as Head of Diversity & Inclusion in September, 2015. He is tasked with leading the execution and ongoing development of a multi-year strategy to establish inclusion as a core value and competitive advantage for the firm. James began his career at Merrill Lynch, spending 15 years in Human Resources, primarily in Talent Management. In 2010, he joined Credit Suisse as the Investment Banking Human Capital Project Lead, before joining the Diversity & Inclusion team in 2013. James serves on the PFLAG Business Advisory Board and was recently elected President of the Board of Directors of Amas Musical Theatre, which amplifies the voice of diverse communities through the performing arts.
