BRANDING AND MARKETING YOURSELF, YOUR BUSINESS

HOW TO BRAND AND MARKET YOURSELF OR YOUR BUSINESS ON LINKEDIN: AN OUT PROFESSIONALS SEMINAR WITH JOHN CRANT.

On Tuesday, July 24, Out Professionals presents John Crant, Self-Recruiter(R) author and career coach. John is a passionate advocate of LinkedIn, the business and employment-oriented service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Let John share what he’s learned about using LinkedIn to create marketable brands for yourself and your business.

Using LinkedIn to reach your career and business goals involves some key considerations:

  • Presence on LinkedIn raises your visibility, gets you noticed, builds brand value, enhances credibility
  • It’s helpful to imagine your LinkedIn Profile as the Home Page for yourself and your business, too
  • To help you maximize the impact of your Profile, try to envision it as a sales brochure
  • Use of LinkedIn’s social media marketing features can expand your network exponentially
  • You need to consider who you want to add to your network; what are your strategies for that?
  • Employed wisely, LinkedIn groups offer you free, made-to-order advertising that delivers an audience

John Crant. As a career coach and expert on job search and career management, John has been featured in Crain’s New York Business, The Wall Street Journal and amNewYork, and on CNN, the BBC and Fox News. We hope you are right, but have you considered the potential downside if you are not?

• In the future, the average American will pay $138,000 in Long Term Care costs.*

SURVEY 50 FABLED WORKS ON 12 ACRES IN MIDTOWN!

MARVEL AT THE STORIED ART OF ROCKEFELLER CENTER ON AN OUT PROFESSIONALS WEEKEND STROLL.

On Saturday, August 4, Walk About New York founder Phil Desiere invites you to join Out Professionals for “The Art of Rockefeller Center,” the tour that has earned rave reviews from the discerning members of the Municipal Art Society. Afterwards, unwind nearby with refreshments and casual networking.

Eighty years ago, Rockefeller Center was one of the country’s first major construction and development projects to integrate art with its buildings, gardens and spaces. Reflecting the vision of John D. Rockefeller, Jr., the collection ranges from sculptures and reliefs to mosaics and murals on canvas, much of it allegorical and most of it in the Art Deco style.

Enter the precincts of the gods — Atlas, Cronus, Mercury, Neptune, Prometheus — to survey more than 50 fabulous works of indoor and outdoor art, ranging from Modern Minimalism to exuberant Neo-Renaissance.

Learn about the men and women who collaborated to create strikingly unified art and architecture.

  • Which cultural institution was originally planned for the Rockefeller Center site?
  • Who is said to resemble the fabled bronze figure of Atlas?
  • Where does Cronus, Father Time, stand at Rockefeller Center?
  • Where are the Rockettes depicted, and in what medium?
  • Why did Nelson Rockefeller fire an artist, after hiring the man at the urging of his mother Abby?
  • Which female artists received commissions, and where are their works?
  • When was the last major artwork commissioned and by whom?

Phil Desiere, founder of Walk About New York, is licensed by the city as a tourist guide and is a member of the Guides Association of New York City (GANYC). Besides conducting tours of such quintessential spots as Central Park and Greenwich Village, Phil develops and leads tours of Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery, a National Historic Landmark.
WHAT’S UP A private, rain-or-shine exploration of the unequalled artwork that informs Rockefeller Center and its history. Tour departs promptly at 2 p.m. and ends about 4:30 p.m. Refreshments on your own nearby.

WHERE
Depart from the steps of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets. Subway: B/D/F/M to 47th-50th Streets/Rockefeller Center; E/M to Fifth Ave/53rd Street; 6 to 51st Street. Questions? Consult MTA Trip Planner. Tour ends on the plaza between No. 1 and No. 10 Rockefeller Center.
