WOMEN OF OP.LYNX INVITE YOU TO NETWORK AND SOCIALIZE AT A PRIVATE VIEWING OF AN EYE-OPENING TAKE ON SEVENTIES ART.

One evening only — Tuesday, May 10 — the members of OP.LYNX, the dynamic women’s network of Out Professionals, invite you to enjoy socializing and networking at SoHo’s buzz-worthy Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art (“Best place for gay culture” — Time Out New York).

Enjoy a leisurely private viewing of “The 1970s: The Blossoming of a Queer Enlightenment.” The Seventies were informed by the sexual revolution, anti-war efforts and the civil rights movement of the Sixties. This vibrant show explores the liberating decade between the galvanizing response to the police raids at the Stonewall Inn and the first rumblings of the AIDS crisis.

Loans from the Lesbian Herstory Archives and the New York Public Library make up some of the 115 works on view. Included is the iconic X Portfolio by Robert Mapplethorpe (1978), which precipitated the Culture Wars of the Eighties.

This noteworthy event continues a promotional partnership between Out Professionals and Leslie-Lohman (“Invaluable museum” — The New York Times), internationally the first museum dedicated to exhibiting, preserving and fostering the creation of LGBTQ art.
