FOR TWO HOURS, ONE SANDWICH AT A TIME, HELP OP.LYNX LESSEN THE BURDEN OF HOMELESSNESS FOR LGBT YOUTH.
On Tuesday, December 2, Out Professionals invites you to join public-spirited members and friends of OP.LYNX, our dynamic women’s network, in a two-hour sandwich-making effort.
Under the guidance of One Sandwich at a Time, volunteers will create hundreds of nutritious sandwiches for those served by MCCNY Homeless Youth Services, whose Sylvia’s Place remains one of the city’s only shelters to accept youth directly off the street, without a referral. As a result, it has become a refuge for New York City’s homeless LGBTQ youth in crisis.
Founded by Erin Dinan, One Sandwich at a Time has been awarded U.N. recognition for its impact on homeless New Yorkers.
Out Professionals thanks our distinguished venue sponsor, New York Life. Join us there, 420 Lexington Avenue (43rd-44th Streets; 15th floor). Subway: 4/5/6 or 7 train to Grand Central. Tip for easy entry: Enter via the terminal’s Graybar Passage, near Track 11. Directions from where you are: hopstop.com
Sandwich-making, socializing and networking, from 6 to 8 p.m. on December 2, increasingly celebrated as “Giving Tuesday.”
Capacity limited; pre-registration a must. Register here. On arrival, your tax-exempt donation of $10 or more will help provide sandwich makings. Bring a hat or cap to cover your hair; we’ll supply everything else.
IT PAYS TO BE AN OP MEMBER
Founded to increase and diversify OP membership and create programming of special interest to lesbian, bisexual and trangender women, OP.LYNX invites you to consider the many benefits of membership in the nation’s leading LGBT networking organization. A one-year individual OP membership (new or renewal, your own or a holiday gift) is just $65. And remember, that buys you a year’s worth of low-cost or no-cost networking and socializing. Order here.
