FOR TWO HOURS, ONE SANDWICH AT A TIME, HELP LESSEN THE BURDEN OF HOMELESSNESS FOR LGBT YOUTH SERVED BY SYLVIA’S PLACE.
On Wednesday, November 30, Out Professionals invites you to join other public-spirited Members and friends in a two-hour sandwich-making effort.
Under the guidance of One Sandwich at a Time, volunteers will create hundreds of nutritious sandwiches for those served by MCCNY Homeless Youth Services, whose Sylvia’s Place remains one of the city’s only shelters to accept youth directly off the street, without a referral. As a result, Sylvia’s Place has become a refuge for the underserved — transgender youth and those experiencing trauma or living with HIV/AIDS.
Founded by Erin Dinan, One Sandwich at a Time has been awarded U.N. recognition for its impact.
