OUT PROFESSIONALS’ WINE CLUB FEATURES SIX NOTEWORTHY INTERNATIONAL SELECTIONS BY AWARD-WINNING SOMMELIER JEAN-LUC LE DU.
On Thursday, October 13, Out Professionals welcomes Members and friends to Le Du’s Wines, the West Village wine shop rated Number One in New York City by Zagat.
At this edition of the Out Professionals Wine Club, the shop’s founder, James Beard Award-winning sommelier Jean-Luc Le Du, conducts an international tastings tour inspired by the creations of distinguished women winemakers.
Tonight’s journey begins with a welcoming glass of a distinctive California sparkling wine.
Commentary then accompanies generous tastings of six distinctive wines:
- From Northeastern Italy: Foradori Teroldego, Dolomite, 2013
- From France’s Loire Region: Sancerre Rosé, Karine Lauverjat 2015
- From California: Peay, Estate Viognier, Sonoma Coast 2013
- From Spain’s Rioja Alta Region: Lopez de Heredia, Rioja “Vina Cubillo” 2007
- From California: Selby, Sonoma County Merlot 2013
- From France’s Rhone Region: Chateauneuf du Pape, Domaine de St Prefert « Auguste Favier » 2013
Each wine is paired with cheese and charcuterie from Murray’s Cheese Shop, a Village favorite for 75 years.
The evening is designed to offer ample time for relaxed networking with other Out Professionals Members and guests.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a welcoming glass of a distinctive Italian sparkling wine. From 7:00 to 8:45 p.m., tastings and commentary on six wine pairings. Attendees enjoy a 5% percent discount on individual bottles, 15% on a case.
